Project Mentors

MIKE CHAFFIN, MENTOR
Stillwater, Oklahoma
A native of Oklahoma, Mike is a life long outdoors enthusiast, who enjoys all types of fishing. As a father of 4, he’s enjoyed sharing his love for fishing with his children, grandchildren, and several foster children that have been welcomed into the Chaffin home over the years.
Having served as a pastor for over 40 years, Mike is now retired. Though he is frequently investing time and effort in church sponsored outreach projects, he is intentional about reserving time to pursue his passion for wetting a hook in a favorite pond, lake, or stream.

NATE SATTERELLI, MENTOR
Edmond, Oklahoma
Nate Satterelli’s passion for fly fishing started at age 7, when he was introduced to the sport by his grandmother. Growing up, Nate chased trout, salmon, steelhead and bass in the state of Michigan, where he was born and raised. As an adult, Nate spent time living and guiding in Colorado. After relocating to Oklahoma, Nate started the local chapter of Project Healing Waters OKC. He also founded Native Waters Outfitters/Outdoors. NWO is an outfitter and guide service that donates its proceeds to help the local community through fly fishing education and opportunities. Along with these passions, Nate finds joy in spending time with his family and teaching the sport to his two daughters, so they can carry on the family tradition.
