Three Cheers for Pamela Allen!
We were thrilled to receive a mentor highlight nomination for Pamela because we couldn’t agree more with the kind words stated below. Pam has been with TMP for 3 years as a Lead Mentor, leading the Columbus, Ohio Project, and 1 year as a TMP Lead Advisor, helping our new project leads with their project start up process!
Nomination notes: From Teresa Casey—Fauver
Why are you nominating this mentor?
I’m honored to work with such a great leader! I’ve watched Pam from our start in Columbus grow this mentor group and guide us through each child’s needs year after year! She helped us as mentors to try to meet those needs and go beyond- to give the kids the gifts to feel achievement, accomplishment and success! You could see it in their faces! She made sure there were diverse learning situations to know about nature, the rivers and of course fishing!
She also networked with the parents! She packed her jeep so full of our meet up supplies and unpacked at her house every month that I’m sure she had an ache or two!!
Pam connected with each mentor also. Communication is one of her important attributes!! She asked the mentors for feedback on what worked and which child seemed to connect with what activity ( tie flying, casting, fishing, being a helper etc). She even addressed dietary needs so those youth with restrictions would feel included, not different!
Pam is one of the best organizers and personable leaders I’ve ever met! I appreciate Pam, as I too feel a part of a meaningful project that benefits our forgotten youth! Thanks Pam and The Mayfly Project!
