MADISON STARK, MENTOR

Millcreek, Utah

Born and raised in the Utah mountains, Madison has been exploring the outdoors from when she could walk. She balances her time these days fly fishing any river that has even the hint of a fish with her chocolate labrador named Bender, gardening in her greenhouse, and experimenting in her laboratory! She is a scientist by trade, and a fly fisherman by passion. With a strong background in conservation and outdoor safety, she’s looking forward to growing every day as a mentor for the Sale Lake City Mayfly Project.

SARAH ROBINSON, MENTOR

Provo, Utah

Born and raised in the city of Los Angeles, Sarah learned about fishing and the outdoors from spending summers with her grandpas in Utah. She will be graduating with a degree in Sociology and a minor in Spanish in 2022. Sarah works with kids daily as a museum educator teaching Life Science and conservation. Sarah moved to Utah for college and initially longed to be at the beach, in the water. Wading in the river became her new home and a stress reliever from work and school. Sarah seriously began learning how to fly fish and tie flies in commemoration of her grandparents and their time spent together outdoors. Fishing and hiking have transformed into backpacking and more. Simply put, Sarah is at her best just playing outside.

DAVID BREIDENSTINE, MENTOR

Salt Lake City, Utah

David was born in Germany and spent his childhood moving across the United States and around the world until he went off to college in central Pennsylvania. During college David played ice hockey and was an active volunteer working with at risk youth in an alternative education setting as well as the homeless population in Harrisburg, PA. Upon moving to Utah in 2013 David rediscovered his love for fly fishing that faded during his college years. When not working with teens leading backpacking trips in eastern Utah David spends his free time walking along the river or sliding on the snow. He is looking forward to sharing his passion for the outdoors and helping to pass on his love of fly fishing.

JARREN BRINTON, MENTOR

West Jordan, Utah

I grew up in Salt Lake for just about all my life. I graduated with a degree in psychology and have started working as a special education teacher in a high school. I love fly fishing and all kinds of fishing.
