ROCKY SANCHEZ, LEAD MENTOR
San Antonio, Texas
Rocky is from Rockdale, TX and grew up with two older brothers. As a kid, his dad taught him and his brothers about the outdoors, often taking them on fishing and hunting trips. Rocky moved to the South Texas Coast Bend where he attended Del Mar College and Texas A&M University-Kingsville (TAMUK) receiving degrees in engineering. During this time in college, Rocky spent a lot of time fishing the Texas Coast. After graduating from TAMUK, Rocky moved to San Antonio and began fishing in the Hill Country as well as participating in Big Brothers Big Sisters of South Texas. In Rocky’s free time, he enjoys fishing on local rivers and the coast as well as racing mountain bikes and gravel events.
LANDON ROWLETT, MENTOR
San Antonio, Texas
Landon grew up in a small town in West Texas spending a lot of his youth in the outdoors. He was introduced to fly fishing while working in Colorado as a Whitewater and Backpacking guide during college. Since then he has worked in fly shops and as a guide in the Hill Country of Texas. Landon enjoys spending his spare time outside hunting and fishing throughout Texas with his wife McKenna and his dog Gimli. He hopes that the outdoors will shape the kids in foster care just like it positively shaped his life as a kid.

CASEY WILGENBUSH, MENTOR

An Iowa native, Casey grew up mostly ice fishing on the Mississippi River with his father and brothers. When he joined the Army in 2017, he started fly fishing in North Carolina and was immediately hooked. Since then, he has had the opportunity to fly fish all over the country, including Georgia, Alabama, Florida, Wyoming, Iowa, and here in Texas. Casey enjoys taking new fly anglers out on the water and introducing them to nature. He is looking forward to settling into his role as a mentor for the San Antonio Mayfly Project!
SAGE WARREN, MENTOR
San Antonio, Texas
Originally from Kansas, Sage moved to Texas in 2013 to help a friend start a solar company, shortly after moving she began to learn how to fly fish on the clear waters of the Guadalupe River. It didn’t take long for her to fall in love, not only with this new hobby but with all things outdoors in Texas. Growing up traditional fishing and navigating rivers in Kansas, Arkansas & Missouri, Sage has always enjoyed being on the water and finds peace being in nature. She mentored and nannied through out college and beyond and has always incorporated nature and exploring with those she’s worked with. She is beyond excited to be a new mentor and part of a great program as The Mayfly Project.
