We have an incredible opportunity to impact many Dallas children who would otherwise would be unlikely to be aware of the outdoors and natural world around them and the therapeutic qualities of spending time outside and on the water.

Kimberly Penick, Lead Mentor
A proud Texas native, Kim grew up with a deep love for the outdoors. She and her father, Don, share a cherished tradition—an annual Father/Daughter fishing trip that reflects their close bond and passion for nature. Most weekends, you’ll find her at Lake Fork, casting a line and enjoying the peace of the water. Her love for the outdoors comes from Don, while her heart for volunteering was inspired by her mom, Debbie. Kim is active with DIVA WOW, Texas Parks and Wildlife, and Dallas Fly Fishers, where she teaches fly fishing and shares her knowledge with others. Kim is excited to continue her work with the Dallas Texas Mayfly Project, guiding youth and introducing them to the joys of fly fishing and conservation.
